DODGY ZIPS THAT won’t open often lead to extreme panic in the fitting rooms but one couple’s fear reached new heights.
KGW.com reports that when a woman from Oregon became trapped in her coat, her husband decided some serious intervention was needed.
After battling with the zipper on the jacket – which he told dispatchers he didn’t want to damage – the lad in question dialled 911 to alert the authorities and demanded their immediate assistance:
Operator: 911, Police Fire and Medical.Caller: Yeah we got a problem here. My wife is struggling in her jacket and can’t get it off. I want 911 here immediately.
Operator: Is she not breathing?
Caller: She’s alright, she just can’t get her jacket off.
Needless to say, the Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency – who take the 911 calls for the local area – wasn’t impressed.

In fact, the organisation decided to make a bit of a public example of them by releasing the full audio to The Oregonian as part of a campaign to stop nuisance callers.

KGW says a crew was sent out to the couple, and firefighters removed the coat without damaging it.
